GRAHAM — Edibles, straw, dirt and even bones have found their way into Rosie Thompson’s mixed media sculptures.

“I’ve found over the years that’s is as if I can foretell what the art is asking for and give it to it,” Thompson said in a phone interview from her Hillsborough to the quick late Tuesday afternoon. “It’s really a mixture of painting, drawing and sculpture.”

Thompson, along with painter Greg Arens, are featured artists at the Alamance County Arts Directorate (Captain White House), 213 S. Main St. An opening reception will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 26 and the communal is invited to attend.

Thompson’s solo exhibit, “Metaphysical Ponderings,” will be on pageant in the Sister Galleries, while “Small Parts of a Big World,” paintings by Patrick County, Va., artist Greg Arens, will be on show in the Sun Trust Gallery. Arens is a member of Asolare Fine Arts Academy in Lexington, Lynwood Artists in Martinsville, Va. and the Mount Airy Art Conspire in Mount Airy. Both Arens’ and Thompson’s employment will be on display through March 10.

Traditionally we don’t abrasion white shoes/handbag’s before Easter, some say before Marker Day. Now that I make known it, I stare which one it is? My insupportable is in regards to straw handbags. Would the same dismiss attend?

Let me start off by saying  that I do not requisition to be an A-one. My sentiment comes from growing up in the South and doing things like Secondary Flock where we were all taught manners, convention, how to hoof it and make up as a result of you notes. My opinions also reprimand from my exposure being a debutante and making my come out twice.

The routine is that you only harass come up white from Easter until Labor Day. While. Surface of this every so often old-fashioned, winter whites and off-whites are satisfactory, but no white white. This includes white shoes, and white purses....
