Fights army police to close city bar

A Hazleton bar was shut down for the evening Saturday after the Old Bill responded to three fights over the course of three hours.

Police said the first proceeding happened at about 7:30 p.m. when patrons at Prestigio Bar and Restaurant, 40 N. Wyoming St., began fighting and throwing bottles. A man was hit in the lineaments with a bottle at the rear of the business and was treated at a hospital for serious facial injuries, oversee said.

The second incident happened at around 10 p.m. when bar security told officers an altercation started advantageous the bar and then spilled onto West Green Street. Police said they were told one of those concerned in the fight brandished a handgun and then left the area in a vehicle.

While investigating that set-to, police watched a third altercation unfold. Police said they settled the third tiff and closed the bar for the evening.
