Let’s expectation what happened in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas.
This is because not all of the futuristic products on exhibit at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will make it to retail one day – many energetic prototypes eventually become “vaporware,” proving too costly to assemble on a mass scale or the competition beats it to market, among other reasons.
Regardless, the following is a look at some of the more stirring showings at this year’s annual tech extravaganza.
Super slim televisions
It was a big year for televisions at CES, strikingly the pair of 55-inch models from LG and Samsung that use OLED technology. Unmistakeable “oh-lead,” OLED televisions use organic meet up with-emitting diodes—opposed to liquid crystals or plasma – which gives these TVs a couple of benefits, including ridiculously thin frames at just four millimetres thick, unprecedented oppose ratios (near perfect blacks) and rich colours. And they’re exceedingly energy efficient.
