How to heedfulness for your new puppy
On the first Tuesday of January, a half dozen people stamped their feet and blew on their fingers to forestall off a bitter cold. It was the first puppy and beginner dog obedience class of 2012 at Critter Sit Doggie Day Custody off Dean Forest Road.
The thick rubber mats recently rolled out under the lights in the standard barn still smelled new and cushioned cold feet — people and dogs similar to one another were excited despite the cold as Joyce Whittal of Pawsitive Respectfulness began a new season of training.
The very young Rottweiler puppy needs self faith; the Bedlington terrier needs to curb her over-the-top excitement, as does the diet older American Straffordshire bull terrier; the mixed develop pup needs basic manners. Each person has different reasons for attending bearing — having fun with their pet and enjoying camaraderie with other dog owners are at the top.
There was a somber note underlying the fun, however. The parley was out: “Christmas” puppies already were being dropped off at local shelters, unprejudiced three days into the new year.
