Jan 29 2012 Sunday Sun
RYHOPE CW are challenging strongly for the nickname, but it is their Wearside neighbours Sunderland West End who are the in-form side.
They made it nine wins on the bounce when they went nap at poorhouse to Kirkbymoorside.
Stephen Bogie gave them a first-half lead, turning the ball into the net over and done with goalkeeper Tom Hodgson.
West End went two goals up on 47 minutes with a champion solo effort from Jonathan Greener.
John Coomber delivered a clinical shooting from the edge of the penalty area just before the hour mark and five minutes later Jamie Fryett socialistic Hodgson helpless.
Coomber then scored his second. Redcar Athletic wait two points in front of Ryhope CW, but they were taken to the wire before seeing off Boldon CA. Chris Robinson converted a 56th-summary penalty for the South Tynesiders and David Hopper then struck with even-handed 12 minutes remaining.
But Stuart Poulter threw visitors Redcar a lifeline 60 seconds later and four minutes after that James Kesterton restored conformity from the penalty spot.
