MANILA Agents of the Jingoistic Bureau of Investigation's Intellectual Property Rights Division seized P6 million good of counterfeit JanSport bags during separate raids conducted in Binondo, Manila on Wednesday.
Raided were the retail discharge and two stockrooms of the T.A. Eustaquio General Merchandise located at Stall 1N-15, Instruct Floor, 168 Shopping Mall, Sta. Elena St.; and Unit G 19-21, Pasilio G, and Piece H 31-33, Pasilio H, both located in Manila Textile Building, Soler St., Binondo.
Confiscated were 3,223 pieces of faked JanSport bags collectively valued at P6 million.
NBI-IPRD agents said the establishments were owned by Teodorica A. Eustaquio and Sally Ong. They added that the raids stemmed from the complaints made by JanSport's thinker property rights representative in the country.
The search-and-seizure authorize was issued by presiding Judge Antonio M. Eugenio of the Manila Regional Try-out Court.
