PORTLAND -- The coppers were warning residents in Portland's West Hills about a string of burglaries that could extend.
The latest break-in occurred just last weekend.
A constabulary officer said he was driving near Skyline Boulevard when he saw a man descend a duffel bag and run into the woods. Inside the bag, the officer found jewelry and other items that had unbiased been stolen from a home on Barnes Road.
Detectives said they muse over this burglary was connected to a string of break-ins in the West Hills.
At least three homes were burglarized on Thanksgiving. In those incidents, the be suspicious of broke in by smashing a back window. Police said the thief shawl jewels and other valuables and then took off on foot.
"Anyone that throws a friend or a rock through a window is obviously not a very professional person and they're not trying to be sly," said Sgt. Bob Ray of the Washington County Sheriff's Backup.
Police have not made any arrests or released any suspect descriptions.
