Backpacks and cargo bags must be “middle-of-the-road” and have manufacturer logos no larger than 5 inches by 2 inches, officials said in the latest changes to the Squadron’ uniform regulations. While in uniform, Marines must wear the straps over both shoulders, so gym bags, duffel bags and computer bags still have to be carried by management.
Female Marines, although cleared to carry backpacks, still can’t gain a purse or handbag if they are wearing utilities.
The MARADMIN addresses this and a mischief-maker of other uniform-related changes, notably the Corps’ decisions in October to consent to Marines to wear bracelets that commemorate friends killed in disagreement and to end the practice of rolling sleeves on Marines’ desert utility uniforms. Other highlights take in:
Women’s clothing. The commandant approved supplemental equal allowance for female officers at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., to buying additional dress caps and service caps, and for enlisted women at 8th & I to obtain additional service caps. The change excludes women assigned to the evil’s Drum and Bugle Corps, according to the MARADMIN.
