Motorists who own Audi cars are being warned to be on their protector after a spate of car-jackings by a vicious armed gang.

The gang have targeted drivers of Audi A3, A4 or A5 vehicles who have been beaten or threatened with weapons to dispense over their keys.

The four attacks - taking place over just five days - have all occurred in either Manchester or Hyde and two of the attacks were on women.

The gendarmes believe the four incidents - involving a gang of three men armed with axes, knives and metal bars - are linked.

The first set-to happened on January 11 when a man was loading bags into the back of his Audi A4 at a car store on Dale Street in the city centre.

He was hit over the head by one of three men who demanded his car keys.

But the motorist threw the keys into the not far-off canal the gang made off with only the his bags and a few other personal items instead.

In the number two incident, on January 13, a woman was punched in the face as she got into her Audi A4 on Heinous Jackson Street, again in the city centre.
